Our digital collection contains four types of eBook formats. Not every format will work on every eBook reading device. Find out if your device is compatible with our eBooks.
Kindle Book Help
Most but not all of the eBooks in our digital collection are available in Kindle Book format. Use the Kindle Book format when you have a Kindle device or a Kindle app installed on your smart phone or tablet.
Hint: You will need to know your Amazon ID and password to authorize your Kindle device or app (once) and to checkout each Kindle Book from our digital collection.

Adobe EPUB eBook Help
Most of the eBooks in our digital collection are in the Adobe EPUB eBook format. This popular format is used by most dedicated eBook devices (except Kindles!) and on our mobile app. The mobile app is free and available nearly every app store for Apple, Android, Windows, Blackberry, Barnes & Nobel Nook, and Amazon Kindle.
Hint: You will need to register the OverDrive Media Console (mobile app) with a free Adobe ID before downloading your first EPUB eBook. Get an Adobe ID at at the Adobe website.

Open EPUB eBook Help
Some EPUB eBook publishers do not add Digital Rights Management (DRM) to their eBooks. This is the case of the Open EPUB eBooks in our digital collection. These titles can be used on every device as the Adobe EPUB eBooks.
Hint: These titles are downloaded differently than the Adobe EPUB eBooks.

OverDrive READ eBook Help
The OverDrive READ format is the simplest type of eBook to use, but can only be read on computers and tablets. Not every device works well with this format. The eBook opens right in the web browser and requires no additional app or ID/password.
Hint: Most modern Android and iPad devices work great with this format!
